Member Name: David Coe

Business Name/ Website: The Coe Real Estate Team, www.CoeRealtors.com

Tell us a little bit about your business:
We are South Bay real estate professionals. As Realtors®, our team's focus is working with divorcing couples and families being relocated. We also cater to passive & active investors looking to invest in SFR, MFR, commercial and note investments.

What’s most rewarding about your work?
Our vision is to help our clients achieve their real estate goals, one exceptional experience at a time. Real Estate is primarily a relationship business, secondarily a property business. We genuinely enjoy the process of building relationships with the people we advise and understanding how to help them make successful real estate decisions.

How did you choose the nonprofit organizations that you support?
My passion is childhood education. The LA25 Foundation of the Arts (LA25) is focused on supporting arts education in Los Angeles County. The Redondo Beach Educational Foundation (RBEF) is focused on helping to educate the whole child, which includes support for arts, science, physical and mental health. As a parent, I strongly believe that a well-rounded education will help kids to become better critical and creative thinkers, while increasing their empathy towards others. As a Realtor, I understand nothing can have a greater impact on a community like quality schools.

Do you host events to help the public learn about important topics?
I host a real estate investment club called For Investors, By Investors (FIBI) that promotes real estate investing education and networking with ZERO sales pitches allowed. I’m also involved with numerous fundraising events for LA25 and RBEF.

How do the philanthropic efforts of your business make our community a better place?
The primary ingredients needed to improve a community are time and money. I try to be generous with both. I personally serve on the Board for both LA25 and RBEF, contributing my leadership, energy and creative thinking. My business also donates a portion of every dollar we earn back to our or our client’s favorite charity. My favorite event is a Crawfish Boil we host each Memorial Day weekend to raise funds for RBEF.

Do your clients influence your choice of causes to support?
Absolutely. There are so many worthy causes out there that need support. If a client has one that is near and dear to their heart, we want to find a way to support it.

What are the biggest benefits of making social responsibility a priority?
I believe there are two main benefits to volunteer work. First and foremost, I believe that a handful of people can make a tremendous impact when they choose to participate in their community. Secondly, those like-minded people that participating are the people that I prefer doing business with. Observing how someone acts when they are doing volunteer work for “free” is a great indicator of type of person and professional they are.

What’s one simple way a local business can reach out and make a difference?
As stated earlier, all non-profits need time and money to be successful. If your business is willing to donate to either LA25 or RBEF, simply send me an email at David@COErealtor.com to discuss.
