The LA25 raises money for Manhattan Beach Roundhouse Aquarium with ART90266 art auction.

June 06, 2012

The LA25, a community networking group formed in 2010 in the South Bay of Los Angeles, is delighted to have raised just under $15,000 for Manhattan Beach based Roundhouse Marine Studies Lab and Aquarium through its first annual Art Auction: ART90266.

The event was held in late October 2011 at the Shade Hotel in Manhattan Beach and drew a crowd of art collectors, artists and a community of people devoted to making Manhattan Beach the best it can be. Our beneficiary for 2011, The Roundhouse Aquarium has been providing education and a place for people to experience the Marine Life of our South Bay for decades from the end of the Manhattan Beach Pier. The staff of The Roundhouse marine Studies Lab has enjoyed the support of hundreds of volunteers as they continue to reach out into our local communities and throughout Southern California to teach our children about the interwoven nature of life both in and out of our oceans as well as the growing effects of global warming on that delicate system.

LA25 is honored to have made its contribution to this valuable resource, looks forward to seeing this non-profit thrive and encourages everyone to learn more about the work of the Roundhouse Marine Studies Lab and Aquarium at:

LA25 wants to extend their deepest gratitude to the many organizations who contributed to make this event such an enormous success including: Avery Video Productions http://, VOX DJ’s:, Paolucci Communication Arts:, Pur Luxe Event Planning,, The Shade Hotel:, 2 for 1 Frame Store in Redondo Beach, and the members of LA25:

We are also deeply in debt to the many generous artists, without whose gifts, this event would not have been possible, including: Anthony Friedkin, Robert Glen Ketchum, Lucian Capellaro, Bo Bridges, Tricia Strickfaden, Kathryn Henneman, Brian Kingston, Bob Waxman, Paul Sargeant, Lauren Pressey, and Al Satterwhite who not only donated two spectacular photographs for the auction, and helped recruit several of the other artists, but also photographed the children at the Aquarium for an entire day - all free of charge. Thanks to you all for sharing your gifts and your livelihood with the community of Manhattan Beach.
